George and I tried to record this song three different times before we came up with this version. To be honest, we tweaked it one more time during the Mastering. We completely changed the opening of the song. This version is fun to us. It makes for the best journey. I originally wrote this song for a belly dancer named Sonya. I was a much younger and different kind of person when I wrote this. I like the suggestions and the need for her approval. I also like that in the end, she needed not one thing from anyone, her happiness was with herself and the narrator is a little put off by it. You can tell in the way I sing, "she loves herself" or "your world is all wrong". There is some attitude there and George definitely hits the hammer on the nail with his guitar solo in the close of this song. In no way at all do I feel that I knew anything about love in the time this was written. It is quite humbling to perform this today. I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.
